Scent Hurdle racing is a fun, exciting sport involving 2 teams of 4 dogs racing head-to-head over 4 hurdles to retrieve a dumbbell which they select via scent discrimination. Scent Hurdle racing is very popular in the Calgary area with tournaments characterized by a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Please note: First timers must purchase a set of dumbbells ($20). If you have a tiny dog (Italian greyhound, Chihuahua, etc) please contact us in advance for extra lightweight options.

This class is for dogs that are new to the sport. Your dog will learn fundamental behaviours such as forward focus, recalls over jumps, scent discrimination, and how to pick up, hold, and carry a wooden dumbbell.
